The contrast between home and college life is hard for some to manage, and for international students who travel
across the globe to study in a foreign country without local contacts, this change can be far more difficult. DRI provides a support system and community for
graduate-level students from different countries and cultures. We unite them under one roof and provide opportunities for
them to live and share their diverse experiences together while studying in the United States. Our students come from India,
China, Spain, Sweden, Liberia, Cameroon, Egypt, Pakistan, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Germany, Nigeria and beyond to
stay with us, and our resources and activities are tailored to their specific needs.

Though we provide clean, safe, subsidized housing to qualifying applicants, even if you do not live
in a DRI house, you are welcome and encouraged to join in on our activities, resources, and excursions.

Who is the Typical DRI Student? The ideal DRI participant
is a serious-minded graduate or post-graduate student (GPA of 3.50 or better) who speaks English as a second or third language
and who aims to take advantage of their American experience and the cultural opportunities the DRI community helps make available
to them. The student is also willing to share their culture and experiences, to listen to the stories of others, and to participate
in DRI activities and dialogues.
